Koskisen Group
Quality has a name. Koskisen.
Koskisen is a Finnish company that was founded more than 100 years ago. We process Finnish wood into products that stand the test of time.
Over the decades, we have evolved into an international wood products and processing expert.
Integrity, courage, creativity and productivity are the values that guide our operations. Our aim is to always exceed our customers’ expectations. We know the end-use requirements set for our wood products, and we want to promote our customers’ business through innovative product and service solutions.
We offer our customers a wide range of wood products, state-of-the-art technology, an excellent sales network, genuine customer-oriented service and the possibility of customised products.
Tailored plywood
Koskisen’s plywood products are globally known for their tailored solutions, high quality and customer orientation.
We manufacture plywood from a renewable raw material – Finnish birch. Finnish birch plywood is a durable and strong material for applications such as vehicle floors and all types of construction. Its light birch surface is ideal for interior decoration such as wall and ceiling panels as well as for furniture.
We also take into account any special end-use requirements in the plywood product design, in co-operation with our customers. In addition to standard plywood panels, we offer plywood that is tailor-made, machined and sawn to dimension – whatever the customer needs. Our plywood is also available in a wide range of colours and coatings.
Tailored chipboard
Koskisen’s Finnish chipboard products offer the markets’ broadest selection of chipboard for construction, interior design and the furniture industry.
Our chipboard is made in Järvelä, home to the only chipboard mill in Finland, by professionals who ensure high quality using clean raw materials.
We supply customers with basic chipboard, furniture board and highly processed specialty board. For us, a high-quality product and uncompromising customer service are part and parcel of each delivery.
First-class sawn timber
Koskisen’s sawn timber is made from densely grained Finnish pine and spruce.
In addition to traditional construction timber and further processed timber, we manufacture different customised cut-to-size products for the needs of the construction and packaging industries.
Koskisen’s main timber products are traditional sawn timber, further processed planed timber and pre-painted products.
Koskisen’s shipping mark, KKN, is known far and wide as a stamp for high-quality timber made to exacting standards.
Unique thin plywood and veneers
Koskisen’s unique and high-quality thin plywood and veneer are raw materials for demanding furniture manufacturers and the joinery industry.
We manufacture thin plywood from a genuine natural material – high-quality, renewable Finnish birch – grown in sustainably managed forests.
Our customer service begins with wood procurement, in which we take the customer’s special requirements into consideration already when selecting the raw material in the forest. Our decades of experience in the processing of birch and continuous product development guarantee product solutions tailored to our customers’ needs. Uncompromising customer service is part and parcel of normal deliveries.
Wood procurement and biofuel
Koskisen Wood Procurement is known for its ethical purchasing. The most important wood species procured are coniferous and birch logs.
In addition to wood procurement, our Wood Procurement unit is responsible for Koskisen’s forest holdings and the management of forest areas for a number of private owners. It also supplies wood material to many other mills in southern Finland.
Koskisen Wood Procurement supplies forest residues to nearby power plants for bioenergy production. Koskisen’s mills also use bioenergy.
