Origin of the Wood
EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and Origin of the Wood
Chain of custody management is part of Koskisen’s supply chain. The wood raw material we use always comes from legal sources, and its origin is verified. Wood is not sourced from protected areas, and raw material is not sourced from controversial or illegal sources.
Wood traceability is based on the internationally recognised PEFC and FSC® Chain of Custody certifications. They ensure that the wood’s journey from forest to finished product meets the requirements of the certification schemes.
EU Deforestation Regulation
The obligations of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 apply to large and medium-sized companies such as Koskisen from 30 December 2026. The Regulation requires that products placed on the EU market or exported from the EU do not cause deforestation or forest degradation and have been produced in accordance with the relevant legislation of the country of production.
Koskisen has the due diligence system required by the Regulation. The system consists of information collection, risk assessment and any necessary risk mitigation measures before products are placed on the market. The attached document below describes the system, Koskisen’s role in the supply chain and how DDS´s are handled. Koskisen will operate in accordance with this description from 30 December 2026.

Wood is not sourced from sources involving:
- illegal harvesting
- violations of the traditional rights of Indigenous Peoples or other communities, or violations of human rights
- threats to high conservation values (HCV)
- conversion of natural forests to plantations or other land use
- the use of genetically modified trees
Chain of custody management is part of the company’s processes. Systematic monitoring and documentation ensure wood traceability and supply chain transparency. Training and internal guidelines support compliance throughout the organisation and the supply chain.
