Four Korvenranta generations and decades of cooperation with Koskisen
The cooperation between Koskisen Corporation and Korvenranta Oy goes back decades, and the cooperation has intensified even more throughout the 2000s. Korvenranta manufactures, among other things, store furnitures and healthcare facility furnitures, and currently focuses its plywood and chipboard purchases to Koskisen.
CEO Jarkko Korvenranta particularly values product safety, quality and delivery reliability when working with Koskisen. Korvenranta’s industry requires a wide range of different patterns and dimensions, and according to Jarkko Korvenranta, it is essential to receive the required number of products within a reasonable delivery time.
“Reliability is key in everything, it is important to know what you are getting. We can always discuss and customize with the people at Koskisen, if necessary. They’ll find an answer to special solutions,” says Korvenranta. As an example of a solution that was precisely tailored to customer needs, Korvenranta cites healthcare facility furniture, for which a durable frame material was sought, considering challenging conditions and requirements. Korvenranta conducted experiments with various materials and Koskisen found a material that was suitable for the need, KoskiLam board, which is highly resistant to moisture.
“When the edge banding was made with our zero-seam technology, we got excellent moisture resistance properties and mechanical wear resistance for the end product.”

Values unite Korvenranta and Koskisen
Korvenranta is a family business founded by Jarkko Korvenranta’s grandfather over a hundred years ago and has grown from a carpentry workshop to a significant woodworking manufacturer and contract manufacturer in its field. According to Jarkko Korvenranta, his grandfather’s teachings are firmly in mind.
“I have listened to my grandfather’s stories since I was a young boy. The stories always had a lesson in them, and our values, reliable, fair, flexible, professional, supporting and determined, basically go back a hundred years,” says Korvenranta. “A similar set of values is also an essential factor when choosing our partners.”
According to Jarkko Korvenranta, operational responsibility is of primary importance to the company and is particularly evident in actions and operating methods. Korvenranta strives for a high degree of domesticity and the use of local services and high-quality raw materials.
“The COVID period taught us, for example, how important it is to have short supply chains and to know your partner. When working with Koskisen, both things come true,” says Korvenranta.
