Circular economy

Koskisen’s circular economy model is in line with leading models developed by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and Sitra in Finland. In circular economy thinking wasting materials and energy and the creation of waste have been minimised and industrial cycles are monitored closely together with natural cycles.

In Koskisen’s business this means, for example, that we strive to make good use all of the timber we bring in from the forest, to the last woodchip. For instance, the harvesting residue created in the forest is utilised as energy wood by nearby power plants, for example, and the woodchips from planing are used to make pellets.
